Blast from the Past
Are you a
90’s baby? Well this post will be a great throwback to good times.
Whether you
were a backstreet boys fan or Madonna’s ‘Vogue’ was your favourite song, the 90’s
had great music that needs to be appreciated more often.
In case you
need a refresher here are some songs that need to be listened to again:
-
‘Smells
like Teen Spirit’ Nirvana (1991)
·
This
Nirvana hit is described as the song of the decade and shot this band into the
spotlight due to its infamous first ten seconds of the song…I guess first
impressions are important. Moreover, the music video is described as iconic and
unforgettable
-
‘Hit
Me Baby One More Time’ Britney Spears (1998)
·
Timeout
London calls it a slow-building banger that was picked up by a rising teenage
star Britney Spears. This timeless song went to number one in 19 countries and kick-started
her pop career.
-
‘Waterfalls’ TLC (1994)
·
TLC transformed the 1980’s ballad to a ‘heartrending urban drama’. The
most memorable thing about this song according to Timeout London is how Lisa ‘Left Eye’ Lopez’s verses treat life’s
tragedies with wisdom, patience and soul, before her rap preaches the power of
hope and self-belief. And God, obvs.
The following songs are also worth checking out:
-
‘Genie
in a Bottle’ Christina Aguilera (1997)
-
‘Wannabe’
Spice Girls (1994)
-
‘U
Can’t Touch This’ MC Hammer (1990)
-
‘Black
of White’ Michael Jackson (1991)
-
‘Livin’s
La Vida Loca’ Ricky Martin (1997)
-
‘Say
My Name’ Destiny’s Child (1998)
-
