Lo-fi & Instrumental Hip Hop

Image
Now these two genres are very unique but so satisfying to listen too I could listen to these few artist all day long cause it's just so damn relaxing. First up we have Joji or some may know his other internet persona as Filthy Frank has some of the most chill beats I've ever heard Below ill chuck a few of his best pieces but honestly give them a listen you'd be surprised at how mesmerizing they're. Next up I have Nujabes who mixes Jazz and Hip Hop to make some amazing instrumental pieces. Only problem is he hasn't released an album since 2011 but he has still had a fair bit of influence with his songs and there are a lot of copycat creating nice music as well. Last but not least we have Toppabeats who's pieces are alot more instrumental than hip hop but i'd say still deserves a spot next to these two for his beautiful pieces. Today I've got 3 great albums for you guys to listen too if you're in the mood for a bit of an indie hit. First up I've got the face of Australian indie music Chet Faker and his most recent EP which resulted from 4 days of studio recordings with Marcus Marr. "The Trouble with Us" hit the radio back in 2015 and floated around there for a bit but in my opinion "Learning For Your Love" was the stand out on this EP. Next up I've got Glass Animals with their 2016 album "How To Be A Human Being" they managed to sneak onto Triple J's hottest 100 with youth at 38th "Life Itself"at 63rd and "Season 2 Episode 3" narrowly grabbing 98th. Finally we get Jarryd James who's had a couple big hits such as "Do You Remember"and "Give Me Something" which have racked up millions of listens on spotify Written by Peter Zessin Content used Chet Faker: https://youtu.be/JAd--mEjcco?list=PLs...

Blast from the Past

Are you a 90’s baby? Well this post will be a great throwback to good times. Whether you were a backstreet boys fan or Madonna’s ‘Vogue’ was your favourite song, the 90’s had great music that needs to be appreciated more often. In case you need a refresher here are some songs that need to be listened to again: -           ‘Smells like Teen Spirit’ Nirvana (1991) ·         This Nirvana hit is described as the song of the decade and shot this band into the spotlight due to its infamous first ten seconds of the song…I guess first impressions are important. Moreover, the music video is described as iconic and unforgettable -            ‘Hit Me Baby One More Time’ Britney Spears (1998) ·         Timeout London calls it a slow-building banger that was picked up by a rising teenage star Britney Spears. This timeless son...

Musical Theatre Picks!

Are you a musical theatre fanatic! Well search no further, this post is made for you! In this post we will be suggesting some great musical albums to check out. Starting out with a personal favourite of the moment, Hamilton the Musical. Hamilton is an American musical that portrays the life of American Founding Father Alexander Hamilton. Hamilton shot to fame due to its inclusion of rap and RnB style music.  Created by Lin Manuel Miranda, this historical yet entertaining musical is definitely one to check out! Another musical recommendation is Wicked the Musical. This musical is known to most people and provides a great insight into the events that occurred before the classic movie ‘The Wizard of Oz’. With solos by powerhouse singer Idina Menzel and great, upbeat numbers…this album must be added to your playlist. Finally, some honourable mentions are Rent the Musical and Hairspray the Musical. These musicals not only have great story lines but also an amazing soundtrack...
